10 Minute Date Night Look

 In Tips Hacks and Tutorials

If you’ve been in a relationship for longer than 4 years, you’d know that date night is either scheduled weeks in advance or it happens on very short notice. I had to learn to do my makeup, if I decide to wear any, in 10 minutes flat as my time management is really bad.

As a woman, we know how an outfit works when pictured in our head but once it’s on, you nitpick and always find fault with it. That also takes away from the time you could’ve spend on your makeup as we know it takes quite some time to perfect your brows. I’ve perfected my 10 minute routine because I had to, not because I set out to do it. This is how it goes; hope it’s helpful to you!

My 10 Minute Date Night Look

I start of my cleaning my face with my Nivea Perfect and Radiant face wash.

I follow this with a moisturizer that has really helped me with my pigmentation and dark marks.

I apply my primer, in this case Rimmel Fix and Protect, to ensure smooth application of my foundation. I’ve never really used concealer and I think I’m able to get away with not using it.

I usually use Estee Lauder Double Wear for date night but recently stumbled upon Maybelline Fit Me and absolutely love the coverage it gives me. I used shade 350 (caramel) and apply that with my foundation brush.

When I do have the time, I used my contour kit from Woolworths just to define and sculpt a bit.

I finish it off with my L’oreal powder in caramel and apply the ultra glow palette from BYS Cosmetics on places where the light will hit i.e. cheek bones, forehead, nose, cupid bow and chin.

For my eye makeup I absolutely love the herbal eye shadows from Palladio. They’re easy to use as it has instructions inside as to where you should apply which shade, which make life so much easier for me.

I usually do, or attempt to do my winged liner before I apply my eye shadow as it takes forever and a very steady hand to achieve and any mess can be hidden with the eye shadow afterwards. I love the Rimmel London liquid liners (pens) and have them in 3 sizes.

I finish it off with my Rimmel London Day2Night mascara which gives you amazing volume and length.

Obviously I haven’t forgotten my brows but for me, personally it takes the least amount of time. I have naturally thick and bushy brows so I had them shaped at Benefit cosmetics and all I do is fill them in with my Rimmel London brow pencil and set it with my Brow this way gel, also from Rimmel London (spot a pattern?).

For my lips I love to use a colour and absolutely love this vampy shade from Dare Colour. It’s a matte liquid lipstick that’s weightless and dries down quickly. It last for quite some time but I do put it in my clutch for touch ups later on. To set it all, I spray my Alila setting spray and I’m good to go!
